Open Access Computers
We help empower people to become confident users of information and communications technology (ICT). Having previously been part of UK Online centres, we work to overcome the ‘digital divide’ between the ‘haves’ and ‘have nots’ of ICT. We also offer ICT training and courses which you can view here.
Friends Centre has computers at both sites that are available to use for free. Once you have filled in a simple registration form, we will put you on the system and give you your personal log-in and password details.
To register for the use of computers please ask at the reception at either Brighton Junction or Ivory Place. You will need to complete a small registration form and read and agree to our acceptable use policy, which you can read below.
E-Safety & Acceptable Use Policy
Friends Centre recognises the benefits and opportunities which new technologies offer to teaching and learning. We provide free internet access at both our sites to all learners to encourage the use of technologies in order to enhance skills, promote achievement and enable lifelong learning. However, the accessibility and global nature of the internet and different technologies available mean that we are also aware of potential risks and challenges associated with such use.
