Creative Writing 2 – Develop Your Craft

An 5-week online writing course with tutor Louise Dobson starts on 17th June from 10am-12pm

Wednesday 10th June 10am-11.30am

Ready for the next step in your writing journey? Develop your writing craft with the second in a series of skills-driven Creative Writing courses. This 5-session workshop course is designed to help build your writer’s toolbox—learning new skills, and practicing proven techniques.

Each session will include a variety of interactive instruction, engaging writing activities, discussion, close reading, and one-on-one conferencing. We will examine a range of styles and genres of published writing, finding inspiration and opportunities through short guided activities to experiment in your own writing.

Elements of craft we’ll explore more deeply include point of view, showing and telling, structure, characterisation, and use of dialogue. You’re invited to work on an existing project, or start something new and exciting. Each week you will also be offered an optional short writing task to keep you writing in-between meetings.

There is no prerequisite for this course.

Join us for a free 90-minute Online Taster Class on Wednesday 10 June.
