This course aims to:

Provide expert help and guidance to enable you to complete/continue your chosen sewing project confidently.

 

Just bring your sewing project plus all related stuff like pattern, fabric, trims etc.

 

Who this course is for?

Anyone who is a bit stuck on their old or new sewing project, or just wants a bit of focused company to sew in.

 

What will I be able to do by the end of this course?

  • Know the next steps needed to complete or continue with your chosen project

What materials will I need for the course?

Your sewing project plus any patterns, fabrics, trims, thread etc related to it

 

Basic sewing kit

We have lots of equipment in class but if you have your own please bring with you the following:

Fabric scissors, paper scissors, threads, chalk or other marking tool, pins, hand sewing needles, quick unpick tool, tape measure.

 

Sewing machine

There are machines at the centre but you can bring your own if you wish. We have a range of Janome and Bernina machines to use.

 

Who is the course tutor?

Jo Bunner spent 10 years as Fashion Designer/Pattern Cutter, specialising in ladies tailoring and outerwear: coats, suits and jackets following her graduation from the London College of Fashion. She is now a qualified Personal Image Consultant as well as teaching sewing and pattern cutting skills at local sewing schools. She has found that in helping others understand their own body characteristics it greatly enhances their sewing satisfaction.
