Study our pattern cutting course in Brighton.
Develop your skills in pattern cutting through drafting a block pattern (a template from which you can create different styles) and create a sewing pattern of your design idea for a simple top, shirt, blouse or dress.
You will learn how to take accurate personal measurements to draft a block pattern. You will learn basic pattern cutting techniques to enable you to use your block to create sewing patterns for a chosen design.
This pattern cutting course is suitable for those who have a confident level of sewing skills and have experience of using and following commercial patterns.
Pattern drafting requires precision, accuracy and the ability to follow written instructions which use basic mathematical skills (divide, add, subtract). You don’t have to calculate in your head but you will need to have these basic maths skills to get the most from the course.
