Tutor and learner working with clothThis course will introduce you to pattern cutting and show you how to create a sewing pattern from your design ideas. You will make one garment from a choice of shirt, blouse, dress or jumpsuit. You will create samples of different sewing and pattern cutting techniques, design the garment, create your own pattern and put your garment together. You will be required to keep and submit a folder of pattern cutting and sewing samples, develop a sketchbook of your design ideas and show the development from design through to the final garment. You will be expected to undertake at least 2 hours of study at home each week. This course is suitable for those who have already completed a Level 2 in Fashion and Dressmaking or those with indepth experience of using commercial patterns. The fee includes a cost for registration and certification by City & Guilds.
