This course aims to:

Teach you the techniques and skills you need to sew your own bralette and matching knickers using stretch galloon lace, liner, jersey and various lingerie elastic.

You can choose from a shoulder strap or racer back style bralette and high waist or hipster knickers. Do note: bralettes may not give you the same degree of support as a bra (though they are very comfy!) nor do they come in a wide range of cup/band sizes, so may not fit as well as a structured bra. For bra making see our other workshops.

We’ll start by introducing you to the fabrics, findings (all the trims and notions!) and techniques involved in making a bralette and knickers. Then you’ll measure, cut out and start sewing, learning how to handle galloon lace, liner materials and the different elastics needed to give that professional finish to your bralette and knickers. You can then try on for fit.*

You will be taught how to make any necessary adjustments to create a perfect fit and how to transfer these alterations to the pattern so you go home with your personalised bralette and knickers pattern and the key skills, experience and inspiration to replicate in colours to match every outfit!

The pattern, fabrics and findings will all be supplied.

*As with most garment sewing projects, your first attempt may not fit as well as you would like, but you will go home with a pattern for a bralette and knickers amended to your own personal shape.
