  • Make a slip knot
  • Cast on and off
  • Knit
  • Purl
  • Work in garter and stocking stitch
  • Work in moss and rib stitch
  • Follow a simple pattern

What materials will I need for the course?

All materials will be provided and you can purchase needles and yarn to take home.  We will be working with 4mm needles and double knitting (DK) yarn.  Thicker needles (e.g. above 4mm) and thicker yarn (e.g. chunky) may also be used.  Thinner yarn (3 ply / 4ply) and thinner needles (less than 3mm) will be avoided since these are more difficult and slower to work with.

If you have your own knitting needles and yarn you are welcome to bring these to use.

How much will these cost?

Knitting needles can be bought from the tutor or charity shops from as little as 50p, acrylic yarn starts from around 50p for a 25g ball.

Who is the course tutor?
