Are you volunteering for a community group, or receiving benefits and hoping to work in catering? A Food & Hygiene certificate is needed by everyone preparing and serving food. This free one day course will provide you with a Level 2 certificate in Food & Hygiene. There is a multiple choice assessment at the end of this course.
This course is for people who work with open food, that is high risk, high protein food. It is for people that are unsupervised or who work with large quantities of food and deliveries.
The course is run in one day and has a fast pace in order to cover the required course content. There is a multiple-choice assessment at the end. This is a Level 2 course. The course is about safe food preparation. Some of the wording on the course is scientific with descriptions of viruses and bacteria, food poisoning, cleanliness, pests and the law surrounding food.
To be offered a free place you will need to:
- be 19 and over (except Young Parent courses)
- live in Brighton & Hove
- be unemployed (or working less than 16 hours)
- be on a low income
- have no qualifications (or few).
We give priority to people who are currently volunteering within their local community.
