During this fun clay workshop in Brighton we will work with air-drying modelling clay to produce decorative slabs and pots.

Experiment with texture, reliefs and coiling while you learn how to design, plan and assemble decorative clay pieces.

The aim of the workshop is to promote a positive and fun atmosphere where participants can be creative in a safe and supportive environment.

This course is suitable for beginners.

Cost includes a small fee for materials.

Who is the course tutor?

Zara Slattery is a freelance illustrator with a BA Hons from Edinburgh College of Art and an MA in Communication Design from MMU, she has over twenty years’ experience of professional art practice. Zara is an Illustrator and Comic Artist who writes short story comics, she has a number of independently published titles and was shortlisted for the 2018 Myriad ‘First Graphic Novel Competition’. Zara has run a range of art courses at the Friends Centre since 2010 as well as schools and community workshops throughout London and Sussex. As part of the British Councils Dickens 2012 Bicentenary celebrations, Zara ran international comic workshops in Greece and Malta.
