Re-Cycle Client Advisor with SCDA (0.6 FTE)
SCDA is one of the partners in this project led by Friends Centre. The organisation, though fairly small in terms of staff with approximately 140 employees, continues to grow – especially geographically. SCDA values teamwork and supporting colleagues and expects all members of staff to demonstrate flexibility within their specified job role, and offer support to other team members as and when required.
The Re-Cycle social enterprise is based upon a recognised model of commercial business with an underlying social purpose. In this example of the scheme, SCDA will collect abandoned bikes from the local police force which have been abandoned or handed in, and through donations, and then they will be repaired/maintained as necessary and sold to the public. The scheme provides meaningful work experience for clients, offering a range of both formal work skills related to bike repair & maintenance and employability skills, including soft and hard skills around cash handling, customer service/working with the public, interview skills and CV prep/job clubs and the like.
The purpose of the role of Re-Cycle Client Advisor is to provide information, advice and guidance – as well as delivering bike maintenance and repair skills – to clients seeking access to work, learning or volunteering opportunities, and/or assisting them to access other relevant services.
The Advisor will work to agreed performance objectives to achieve targets, those objectives being set by contracts and within personal work plans to enhance and develop a high quality service.
