Welcome
Friends Centre is an independent adult education organisation where people can develop their knowledge, skills, understanding and creativity in a supportive environment.
We have been part of the Brighton and Hove community since 1945, providing community based education across a broad range of subjects.
Whether you are looking to take up a new challenge in a leisure course, or are out of work or facing the prospect of redundancy, Friends Centre has something for you.
Each year around 1,600 people from different backgrounds come to learn together in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Our mission is to:
- Help people achieve their aspirations and meet the challenges they face
- Stimulate community interest and civic involvement
- Promote inclusion, social justice, environmental sustainability and international understanding
We offer an interesting and diverse range of courses, and are particularly known in the local community for helping and supporting people who find it hard to learn, including people who have been out of education for a long time, those with few formal qualifications, people with mental health needs or learning disabilities, refugees and asylum seekers and homeless people.
If you are looking for a course for yourself, would like to refer someone else to us, or would like to support our work, please contact us. Our phone number is (01273) 810210 and the reception is open from Monday to Thursday, 9.30am - 7.30pm and Friday, 9.30am-3pm.
