Frequently Asked Questions

Dear Learner,

These are a few of the things learners have told us they gained from learning at The Friends Centre.

"Space to think about dreams and achievable goals" (Stress Management)

"Experimenting more, taking more risks and gaining confidence" (Drawing & Painting)

"Meeting new people, gaining confidence in using computers and losing inhibitions about being a mature student" (Digital Camera and Photo Editing)

"Inspiration from other students' work" (Pen and Wash)

"I have learned to persevere and enjoy such a totally different subject" (Exploring Drawing & Painting)

In our programme this year you will find some new courses - in arts and crafts, music and drama, health and well-being and in psychology. We also have a series of short Saturday workshops planned with new ones in jewellery making, textiles, French films and bellydancing. Alongside the new courses there are old favourites from our most popular tutors.

I have expect you have heard on the news or in the newspapers about adult education fee increases. Friends Centre will have to increase our fees, like other organisations, but the good news is that we have kept the increase to a minimum, we will offer concessions for people on income-related benefits, and our classes are still very good value for money.

We hope you find something you like in our programme, and we look forward to seeing you at one of our courses during the year.

Best Wishes,

Juliet Merrifield

Principal
