Adult Literacy & Numeracy (ALN)

Do you want to improve your reading, writing and maths? Or, do you know someone who does?

Reading, writing and maths are important skills for everyone. Many adults would like to improve these skills and here are some of the reasons why:-

• To brush up skills you already have
• To help children or grandchildren with their homework
• To prepare for further study
• To help to get a job, or to get a better job
  
  
  
• To be able to fill in forms and write out letters
• To be able to manage money better
• To feel better about yourself

National Certificates in Adult Literacy and Numeracy

Almost any job these days wants you to have English or Maths "GCSE or equivalent".
What does "equivalent" mean, though?
Basically, it means "the same as".

We run courses that can gain you a certificate which shows that you have passed a test which is "the same as" a GCSE.

Level 1 is "equivalent" to lower grade GCSE
Level 2 is "equivalent" to GCSE A*-C grades
